Dark circles treatment

What are dark circles?

Dark circles appear in the area under the eye which, with aging, loses its volume, elasticity and gets a brown or violet pigment. Once the dark circles have appeared, they give the impression of a tired and unhealthy look. They may be corrected by several methods, depending on their nature. Blepharoplasty, filling dark circles with fat, mesotherapy or injecting hyaluronic acid are the most well-known methods of treating dark circles.

The most common causes of dark circles include:
  1. The genetic factor
  2. Dehydration
  3. Continuous eye rubbing (allergies)
  4. Reduction of collagen and skin elasticity as we grow older
  5. Alcohol and tobacco consumption
  6. Fatigue
  7. The erosion of the cheekbones
  8. Damage caused by exposure to sunlight
Treatment for reducing dark circles

The hyaluronic acid injection (Redensity II, produced from hyaluronic acid) provides an improvement in the dark circles, lasting between 6 months and 1 year, depending on how quickly hyaluronic acid is metabolized.

When do we see the treatment results for dark circles?

The results are observed instantly as the procedure involves filling the tear troughs. Immediately after injection, the area looks brighter, the pigmentation diminishes and the skin becomes tighter.

Before treatment, Dr. Ioana Drăgoicea offers a consultation where she presents the treatment possibilities for dark circles and determines what is the most appropriate procedure in your case, so that the result obtained is the desired one.
