Reduction of the nipple/areola
The nipple can be increased congenitally or after breastfeeding. Cosmetic surgery to reduce the size of external genitalia of women can be done under local anesthesia and usually takes about 1 hour.
Depending on the shape of the nipple, it can be reduced in length, width or both. Sometimes, this procedure can be done in combination with breast augmentation surgery, breast reduction and mastopexy.
Reducing the areola is usually done by removing part of the peripheral areola and then a periareolar suture is needed.
After healing, the incision will not be visible and patients can return to their normal activities within 1-2 days.
Navel nipple correction
This change in the nipple may be congenital or occurs after breastfeeding. The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia and takes 1-2 hours. There are several surgical procedures depending on the level of the umbilication of the nipple.
